I love this song, it’s amazing. But what I think is brilliant is that this song just belongs to an area in America where there are forests and not many people, like it’s a secret. And in a way Bon Iver not being too popular is a good thing as it’s more exclusive.
Are you guys kidding me? Fleet Foxes new album was mediocre. Their first album was great
@StephenStitt Mumford definitely, but Fleet Foxes are up there.
search: Forrest Foster.
It’s storming outside in January and I’ve been replaying this for at least an hour. Perfectly content right now
@dannyandalexvideos When did I say I didn’t like them? Dumbass.
I said Bon Iver was light years ahead of Fleet Foxes and I stand by that. I like Fleet Foxes, I do think though that Bon Iver is just so so much better. Try not to have a shit fit over one guys opinion, think you can do that? Okthankyoubye.
@StephenStitt Maybe Mumford and Sons…but Fleet Foxes new album is giving bon iver a run for his money.
Bon Iver represents the midwest and the common man more than any politician ever will.
@StephenStitt Have you listened to Fleet Foxes new album at all?
@augustokosak tickets to a live show for all three
@StephenStitt Sorry, but your dumb as hell, Fleet Foxes are also an amazing band
I love how soulful he is.
@MrDjpooppants Are you kidding me?
58 people are boys
Am I the only one hearing Jeff Buckley? sp. What art, Yeah.
So human, so desolate.
I think all three bands are unique and distinct. Bon Iver sounds like he incorporates a lot of soul and even jazz at times. Mumford and Sons sound like old yet fresh English folksters and Fleet Foxes sound like well folk. You can’t really compare MS with Bon Iver and the same goes with FF as well but I could see the comparison between MS and FF. But overall all three are great and they deliver powerful and emotional messages and that’s all I need.
@StephenStitt alright, i’ll give you Mumford & Sons, but don’t knock Fleet Foxes.
Rubbish singer.
@myhigherpie2 You are very, very right!
@augustokosak Ever heard of Iron & Wine? but now the “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” type, but the “Belated Promiss Ring”type, or “Gray Stables”, “House by the Sea”, “Carousels” “Communion Cups and Someone’s Coat” I could go on and on and on
If you like this check out The Regretting Man on Youtube and facebook
@augustokosak Laura Marling, The Tallest Man On Earth, Sufjan Stevens, Radical Face, Joanna Newsom. The list is long, and that makes me feel like I live in a better world.
Just bought this guys whole album … Yet I still come on youtube to listen … why ? haha
I love this song, it’s just amazing. The intro kinda reminds me of native American tribes. What I admire most about Bon Iver is that you can hear nature in the music, especially the forest in For Emma, Forever Ago. I love the muted beat in this song and the long backing vocals, and flowing guitar.
@neontrees3400
You guessed ‘er, Chester.
@Pizuzuzimmer are you saying this sounds like agey sounding pretentious horseshit?
@neontrees3400
Someone not into new agey sounding pretentious horseshit?
WAIT…..who the hell would dislike this?
this is music.

I love you Bon Iver. You got me through last winter, and you’ll get me through the next.
For heartbreak, forever ago
This song makes me want to feel every emotion on earth, like most of his music! Makes me wanna just get up and live, if that makes sense
